Village activities in 2025 and 2026

On 17 August 2025, the Morosunggingan Village Government received a certificate as the best village in empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) in a competition among the villages of Peterongan District. The certificate was presented at the ceremony for the 80th anniversary of Indonesian independence, held on the field of the Darul Ulum Islamic boarding school (Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum).

Desakita.co lists several village activities in this field, including building a people's market (pasar rakyat) and supporting the Srikandi group of Morosunggingan Village. Work on the market began in 2023 on village treasury land in Ngrawe hamlet. Its purpose is to give a place to residents who used to sell along the village road between Ngrawe and Ngrandu hamlets. In the same area, the village built a pujasera (a shared food court) with six kiosks and several stalls for traders. Support for the Srikandi group covers women's empowerment, the Women Farmers' Group (Kelompok Wanita Tani, KWT), and growing and selling hydroponic vegetables (vegetables grown without soil).

On 16 and 17 February 2026, the market was used for an arts and culture performance. According to TribunJatim.com, the programme included gambus, musik patrol, terbang jidor, the Topeng and Remo dances, besutan, and ludruk. The event was initiated by Yayasan Permata Bangsa Nusantara Jombang together with the market's managers, as part of the use of the 2025 proceeds of the Culture Endowment Fund (Dana Abadi Kebudayaan). More than 50 performers, both individuals and groups, took part. They came from Morosunggingan and from nearby villages and districts.
