QRIS-EDC, a free QRIS till app that keeps working without internet
Your phone becomes a QRIS payment terminal (QRIS is Indonesia's national QR payment standard). Type in the amount, and the customer scans a QRIS code with the amount already filled in. The customer does not have to type the amount.
What you can do
- Show a payment QR code with the exact amount for every sale, based on the QRIS sticker your shop already has.
- Record sales and a list of goods (catalogue). Stock goes down automatically with every sale.
- Produce daily and weekly sales reports for your bookkeeping.
- Keep working when the signal drops, because all data is processed on the phone.
How to start
- Open qris-edc.hanzcodes.my.id in your phone's browser. You do not need to download anything from the Play Store or App Store.
- Scan your shop's QRIS sticker once.
- For each customer, type in the amount. A QR code with the exact amount appears straight away for the customer to scan.
Your data
Sales data is stored on your own phone in encrypted form (scrambled so that others cannot read it). It is not sent to a server.
Technical details
Offline-first PWA. The QRIS code with the amount is generated on the device from the shop's QRIS, with no till hardware. The app was first developed for the PIDI Digdaya X Hackathon 2026 (Bank Indonesia and LPPI). The app also uses a small language model that runs directly on the phone, without internet.
Free, with custom versions on request
QRIS-EDC is free to use. Government agencies or companies that want a custom version on their own server can contact us. If you find the app useful, you can help cover its server costs.
