BukuGembok, a cash book for neighbourhood groups and arisan that no one can change in secret
A shared cash book that no one can change in secret. Every resident holds the same cash records on their own phone. If someone changes a figure on their own, that entry is rejected when the records on all phones are synchronised.
What you can do
- Record money coming in and going out for a neighbourhood fund, arisan, or farmers' group.
- Share the same records to every member's phone, so anyone can check the balance without feeling awkward about asking.
- Flag suspicious entries when the records on all phones are synchronised.
- Save a backup of your key (the secret code that marks your entries) to a file, so you can restore your records on a new phone if yours is broken or lost.
How to start
- Open bukugembok.hanzcodes.my.id in your phone's browser, then choose "Add to Home screen". You do not need to download anything from the Play Store, create an account, or use an email address.
- Press the green button for money in and the red button for money out, then enter the amount and a short description.
- Press the blue button to synchronise records with other members' phones. You can do this over the same Wi-Fi, over the internet, or by scanning a QR code.
Your data
Records are not stored on a central server (a computer on the internet that stores data). They are stored on the members' phones, and each entry is marked by the phone that created it.
Technical details
Progressive web app (PWA) under 300 KB. Each transaction is cryptographically signed on the device. Phones synchronise via QR code or the local network, with no central server, no account, and no email.
Free, with custom versions on request
BukuGembok is free to use. Government agencies or companies that want a custom version on their own server can contact us. If you find the app useful, you can help cover its server costs.
